Electrify Tubed

Electrify Tubed starts off as a sheet of sterling silver; after transferring the Electrify design to the metal, I etch it for several hours to create the pattern you see. I then heat the metal to a high temperature (annealing) to make it pliable; and start to hammer it to bend it and form the tube. I anneal, hammer and shape it repeatedly until I get the tube perfectly aligned; also creating space at the top to set a stone.

The bezel (to hold the gemstone) is then soldered in place while soldering the tube closed, to maintain the alignment.

Cleaning and polishing is next, and drilling the back for the chain. Then the lovely Chrysocolla stone is set in the top of Electrify Tubed. Final cleaning and polishing leads to the last step, patinating the piece to highlight the depth of the inspirational art.

This unique design is based on the Electrify artwork of LisaL, made doubly unique with the unusual tubular shape. The pretty blue-green color of the Chrysocolla stone highlights the spark in this piece. Pair with the Electrify earrings and bracelet to amp it up.
