The Warrior Malachite pendant is hand-sawn out of sterling silver sheet. I create a bezel for the Malachite gemstone out of fine silver as well as “granulation”, small pieces of fine silver heated to a high temperature that roll up into balls. After filing the edges and cleaning/polishing the front, the bezel and granulation are fused to the shield-shaped back plate. A shield-shaped bail is created in the same manner, and attached via cold-connection to allow for some movement. After thorough cleaning and polishing, the beautiful round green malachite cabochon is set in place.
