Bay Bound

The star of this show is a very serious bird, and his own crystal-clear reflection as he marches determinedly towards Tampa Bay.

My original photo is etched into sterling silver. I shape the piece using traditional metal-smithing techniques; by sawing and filing the piece a pendant is created. After forming the bail, it is soldered into place. Filing, cleaning and polishing, plus a little patina to highlight the bird against his vivid backdrop, creates a wearable piece of art.
