TWINKLING SILVER STARS & DEEP BLUE SAPPHIRES

These earrings began as a lovely flower etch design, which turned into stars in silver. The teardrop shape was sawn out by hand, then formed and given added depth by hammering into a curved shape.

4 uncalibrated sapphires were perfectly twinkly and complement the stars perfectly. (Uncalibrated means they are not identically sized.....because what really is in the universe?)

Once bezels were created for the sapphires and soldered in place, the piece was cleaned and polished. Patina was added to emphasize the stars and luster of these starry nights. The sapphires were set in their bezels, and silver ear wires were added. Cleaning and polishing to a lovely matte glow allows the sapphires and stars to twinkle.
